China

This could be one of my favorite pictures, so I put it first, even though it is not from Beijing, which is where we spent our year working.  This is the coast near Sanya, Hainan.  It's in south China, where the Miss World competition has been held for the last 3 times or so.  This is us in front of the 108 meter statue of the Buddah.  It was really cool to get to the beach.  I have been craving the ocean BAD!

Here's me at the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall.  China is polluted on most days, so this is as clear as we could see it.  Cool wall, though, really cool!

Mostly us with some of Tian'anmen Square in the background.

OK, some things are really lost in translation...............

This is the view from our window on two different days.  Most days are like the one on the left-- totally polluted.  Once in awhile, the wind comes in and blows the pollution out and it looks like the picture on the right for a blissful day or so.

I guess those pigs are going to be someone's dinner.  Here, they will also ride a bicycle with an exposed rack of beef just laying on a platform attached to the back of the bicycle.  It's amazing, not even covered with anything.  Just out to the air and they are peddling it along getting it dirty and whatever.
